For many years, one of the hallmarks of anime has been progressive story arcs where characters evolve across episodes and seasons. Compare this to episodic Western animation where status quo is king. However, due in part to Western animators who grew up on anime, this is beginning to change. This panel will examine how this and many other attributes of anime have influenced and inspired Western animation.
